What Goes In Your Blue Bin

Metal Cans Aluminum & tin cans
Foil & pie plates
Empty steel aerosol cans
Rinse cans. Do not put in plastic bags. No scrap metal
Glass Bottles & Jars Mayonnaise jars Wine bottles
Beer bottles Soda bottles Applesauce jars Spaghetti sauce jars Salsa jars Vinegar bottles Baby food jar
Rinse. Okay to recycle metal lids. No need to remove paper or plastic labels. Do not put in plastic bags. No broken glass
No cups, dishes, glass windows, plates, Pyrex, ceramics, mirrors, light bulbs, crystal

Plastic Bottles
& Containers(# 1-5)

All plastic bottles & jugs with the 1-5 symbol on the bottom
Soda & juice bottles Salad dressing bottles Shampoo bottles Window cleaner bottles, milk jugs, Detergent bottles, Juice bottles, Fabric softener & bleach bottles, yogurt containers, butter & margarine tubs.
Rinse. No need to remove lids or paper or plastic labels. Do not put in plastic bags. No plastic shopping bags No plastic food wrap No potato chip & sandwich bags, No Styrofoam. No plastics with 6 through 7 symbols or plastics without number symbol. No automotive fluid bottles (oil, antifreeze, brake fluid)
Mixed Paper Mail, envelopes, any color (metal clasp is ok), Magazines, catalogs, phonebooks Writing/ledger paper, Paper bags, greeting cards, Shredded paper, Computer paper, sugar & flour bags, calendars, tissue paper, coupons, bill inserts Place in bin with other paper or paper bag. All paper and thin cardboard can be mixed together. Do not put in plastic bags No paper towels, tissues, napkins
No cigarette packs
No candy wrappers
No waxed or plastic-coated paper
No foil wrapping paper
No pet food bags
Newspapers All newspapers, ads and inserts Bundle into brown paper bags. Do not put in plastic bags.  
Cardboard Boxes & other corrugated cardboard Must be FLATTENED. Bundles must be no larger than 2 ft long or wide. Do not put in plastic bags No cardboard larger than 2 ft.
No dirty or greasy cardboard
No pizza boxes
Thin Cardboard All thin cardboard. Shoe boxes, Cereal boxes (remove bag), Pasta boxes (window ok), toilet paper rolls, gift boxes, Cake mix boxes, toothpaste boxes, tissue boxes, Paper egg cartons, file folders, Light bulb packages Place in bin or paper bags with mixed paper, but throw away package plastic or wax liners. Do not put in plastic bags No takeout or frozen food boxes. No boxes with silver or foil coatings Nothing dirty, greasy or plastic-coated
